No. When the flooring is waterproof, it means that it is inherently impervious to water because it is constructed of 100% watertight materials without coatings, glazes, or special backings to make water absorption difficult. As a result, waterproof floors can be spilled on or submerged, and examples of these surfaces are luxury vinyl (LVF), SPC and WPC Flooring, or porcelain tile.

Water-resistant means there is still a chance liquid can still seep into the core and peel and ripple. We’ll sort it all out; come into our showroom when you are shopping for waterproof flooring in Jacksonville.

SPC, WPC Flooring: waterproof capabilities and peace of mind

These are luxury vinyl, but instead of the usual core of vinyl composites, these floors have the technologically advanced, WPC (wood plastic composite) or SPC (stone plastic composite) cores. They won’t peel or ripple, no matter how much water there is or for how long. While LVF is impervious, WPC or SPC offers an even higher level of protection.

These floors have high-end luxury vinyl style, with true-to-life images of wood, stone, or tile. Micro beveling and deep embossing add depth, dimension, and textured features such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed. The designs follow current trends, whether you want wood or whitewashed wood looks, marble floors, or bold, colorful geometrics.

This material can also be cut into long planks to mimic hardwood boards or groutable squares to echo stone or tile; they are also durable, low maintenance, and fast and uncomplicated to install with a floating floor, which is clicked, mat, and hover.

A word about tile

While many ceramics, especially when glazed or sealed, make it difficult for water to penetrate, it is porcelain that’s genuinely impervious. Porcelain is a ceramic composed of a non-porous clay called Kaolin. As a result, it doesn’t matter whether or not it’s glazed, and it can withstand any weather condition.
