ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORS

Engineered Wood Floors are offered for those who want a real hardwood floor and do not want to worry about the problem of moisture normally associated with solid wood. Engineered wood floors are designed especially for Florida, where many homes are on cement slabs. Engineered floors differ from solid floors because they have a wear layer of the wood with multiple layers of a different wood (such as oak or poplar) attached to it.  These multiply layers help if any moisture is absorbed by the wood and prevents damage to your floor.  All engineered floors have a specially formulated, ultraviolet-cured urethane finish and are offered in the most popular, prefinished colors.
When choosing an engineered wood floor, you can select your floor based on any and all of the following factors:

  • Hardwood species: including Northern Red Oak, Red & White Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Pecan & Other Exotic Species.
  • Price point
  • Color of wood
  • Plank width: 3”, 5”, 7” most common sizes
  • Hardness of wood
  • Room that wood is being installed
  • Style of wood:  mat or shinny finish,
    hand scrapped, distressed
  • By brand (Mohawk,Mannington,Mirage, Kahrs,
    Anderson, Appalachian, Columbia, Harris, Lytus)
